Curtains – these are the most traditional form of window coverings and they can be found in a number of different types. There are lightweight curtains that can be used during the summer months, thicker curtains for the winter and blackout curtains that can be used to prevent light from outside entering your rooms. There are some great Curtain Makers London way, such as www.theboyswhosew.co.uk/ who can craft beautiful curtains in almost any colour and pattern.

Blinds – if you are looking for a way to keep light out of your room in the summer, without having to close your curtains, blinds might be a good option. Again they can be found in the stylings of roman or venetian blinds. In many cases people will still opt to have curtains over the top of their blinds to add some style and an extra layer of warmth to their windows.

Shutters – these are a popular choice on the continent as they help to keep rooms cool during the hot summer sun. They can be installed relatively easily but again they can require some additional measures during the winter to help retain the heat inside the rooms.
