For decades, Telex has been the leader in lightweight headsets designed for commercial aircraft, now Telex has gone one step further with the introduction of the Ascend lightweight ANR headset designed for today's turbine cockpits.
The Ascend headset is finely tuned to provide superior performance in a bold new design. From cockpit to cabin, the Ascend is ideal for commercial and corporate pilots with diverse needs and discerning standards.
The Ascend's modular design allows the user to add different accessories to the headset such as changing the connectors, removing the boom, adding a battery and much more without the use of tools.
The highly flexible modular design enables users to swap connectors and use the same professional grade headset for commercial flying, or personal audio application.
For example, a pilot can connect the twin aviation jacks with a boom mic for cockpit use, then switch to a listen only headphone module and enjoy music on an iPod, MP3 device or personal computer. The possibilities are endless.
Ascend's advanced noise reduction system specifically targets common cockpit noises, such as wind noise and avionics cooling fans found in today's turbine cockpit. The Ascend will reduce all these noises and more, softening and pushing the vibration harmonics from propellers spinning at near supersonic speeds into the background.
The Ascend improves upon the Active Noise Reduction in the popular Telex 500 & Telex 850models and the passive noise reduction of the Telex 750 delivered without batteries through the panel's microphone plug. For those cockpits that don’t have intercom systems allowing for ANR power through the microphone plug, convenient lightweight rechargeable battery module may be snapped into the headset to provide 40+ hours of ANR power. Ascend's unique chassis features pivoting earcups that pivot a full 180°, ensuring a snug, custom fit for the user and enabling the headset to fold flat into its custom-designed case, which includes convenient inside pockets and pouches to carry additional modules and accessories.
The Ascend will meet FAA TSO / C139, AIRINC 535A (when not in conflict with C139), Boeing and Airbus requirements, as well as current RoHS standards.
